BITL ... plan for the future ... Before It's Too Late
Before It’s Too Late! (BITL 5) is a grant funded through Title II Improving Teacher Quality Program by the Office of The Commissioner of Higher Education. This program continued to improve teacher's of mathematics content knowledge in algebra, geometry, and statistics along with allowing them to develop contextually authentic problems
Teachers studied content and built lessons for student to learn necessary problem solving skills for post-secondary education as well as their future careers.
BITL 5 teachers attended a 5-day workshop at The Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake in June 2009, where they deepened both their understanding of mathematical theory as well as pedagogy. Attached are the amazing lessons developed by the dedicated teachers who gave endless hours to enrich Montana math and hopefully your classrooms.
Many thanks to The Commissioner of Higher Education for the funding, the directors of the BITL grant for their time and insights, and the teachers for their blood, sweat, and tears.
Enjoy the ideas!
